Vintage Gilt - Lamp Make Over

Cherub Lamp Make Over

In my previous post I mentioned that I went on a day trip last week....  to my local flea market.  I found lots of goodies.  Some of which would have to be repaired or re-purposed.
One of my finds was this vintage cherub lamp base.  It was in poor condition and the wiring was shot.  I loved the cherub base and knew I could do something wonderful with it.  I originally intended to restore it to a working lamp.
As with most things.....  they sit around for a while before I decide what to do with them.  The cherub needed to be cleaned so I sat it on the kitchen counter.  In the mean time.....  a dear friend of mine gave me a bag of home made rose potpouri.  She makes it herself and it smells divine.
I wanted something wonderful to hold the potpouri..... and that's when I hit on the idea to turn my cherub lamp into a vase.  I started by removing all the electrical parts.  I used some misc lamp parts and a glass globe from an old light fixture.   Screwed them all together and voila!.... trash to treasure!  I added some vintage lace and an antique rhinestone fur clip.
I LOVE how it turned out.

Have a lovely week.
Elizabeth

What a great idea to turn the sweet cherub lamp into a vase. I have things that sit around for the longest time before inspiration strikes. Very creative!

Elizabeth, You are so creative with your repurposing...a girl after my own heart! I love the cherub vase and I couldn't help noticing your pretty lamp shade...a vintage hat veil over the shade? Love it! Hugs, Penny

What a wonderful idea! It looks amazing...you know me and cherubs:) I actually have a lamp which I'm considering dismantling and just using the base, you've inspired me now!

About my sofa, yes it's Ikea and I love it! The slipcovers come off and I just toss them in the wash every once in a while...genius!

The Florentine table, yes I did paint it. I was struggling with it being gold and white, it just wasn't working for me! I will tell you though, it's not wood...had it been an actual wood Florentine table I would not have painted it! It's that heavy plastic type stuff so I thought, what the heck!

Thank you so much for stopping by Elizabeth!!! It's always so nice to hear from you:) Hugs!

What a beautiful transformation you have done with this one!!! I have no doubt that in its actual version it looks more exclusive and chic than if it would have been a simple lamp again... Thanks very much for visiting my humble attic and for your kind comment, you´re always welcome!
Hugs,
K.

Hope you had so much fun at the flea market. I have not been to one in ages! When I travel back East this summer I hope to bring home a couple of treasures!
Be blessed my friend and may spring and warm weather find us all eagerly awaiting them :o)
