Reflections ~ Antique Etched Mirror

Antique Etched Mirror

~ Reflections ~
Now that Thanksgiving is over and Winter is knocking at the door.......  I've suddenly realized that another year has passed.  Time passes faster than ever these days.  Where did it go??  As I reflect on the passing year....  I am so grateful.  I know I am truly blessed
This plateau mirror is one of my favorite finds of  2012.  It is very old..... probably from the 30's or 40's.  I love the etched glass and the little bows and swags on the handles.  Sometimes a piece just speaks to me.....  and this one did.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
Elizabeth

Pink Pretties - Hand Painted Glove Box

  Hand Painted Glove Box

I absolutely love hand painted roses!
When I found this little glove box.....  it was love at first sight.  I knew the minute I saw it that I had to have it.
It's a soft pink with little gloves, ribbons and roses on the top and little pink roses with ribbons on the side.
Just adorable!
I found another amazing perfume bottle.  I've been collecting vintage rhinestone perfume bottles for a long time.  I haven't found a fabulous one (that I don't already have) in a long time.  This one is awesome!  It's PINK! and has lots of rhinestones!  To die for!  I just LOVE it!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
God Bless

A Bit Vintage - Pink Saturday

As we approach the holiday season most of us will be spending a lot of time in the kitchen.  Preparing for Thanksgiving and baking pies, cakes and cookies to share during the upcoming Christmas holidays.  For a lot of us.......  it will become a popular gathering place for family and friends.
Our kitchen reno is not yet complete......  but, at least for the holidays......  I have tried to put a few things back where they belong.  For me....  the worst part of a renovation is having stuff all over the place.
My new kitchen decor will be a cross between Shabby Chic and French Cottage.  A mix of antique china, hand painted roses, vintage cutting boards, glass and vintage silver.  All of my favorite things.

I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Warmly,
Elizabeth

Fabulously French ~ Globe de Mariee Couronne

French Globe de Mariee Bridal Couronne

Isn't this one of the most beautiful antique French pieces you have ever seen!!!
I LOVE antique wedding and bridal pieces and was ecstatic when I found this one.
This is a 19th Century French Globe de Mariee Bridal Couronne.  It is covered in beautiful pink porcelain roses, wax flowers and gilded leaves.  It has four little mirrors and the seat is covered in red velvet tufting.
These displays were given to a bride to display her wedding mementos......  such as her wedding tiara (usually waxed blossoms with ribbon), maybe the grooms boutonniere or a Mothers corsage, part of her wedding bouquet and wedding photos.  After marriage..... her children's hair clippings were displayed. Each one of the flowers, doves, and mirrors have a different and special meaning.
This one no longer has it's glass globe cover......  but, I love it anyway!
I found this lovely piece on Etsy via Vanna's Armoire.
Couldn't resist sharing.

Have a wonderful week!
