Pretty as a Princess ~ Taffeta & Tulle for PINK SATURDAY!

Pretty as a Princess!

I just purchased this gorgeous dress on Etsy!
It looked pretty and the price was right.
When it arrived I set it aside and didn't open it right away.
When I finally opened the box.........  Gasp!
It was so much prettier than I had imagined!
It looks more like a ballet dress than a prom dress.
Like a fairy Princess.  So pink and fluffy.
The vintage taffeta has aged a bit and turned a "vintage pink"......  which just adds to the charm.
The dress is so full and fluffy.... like it should be dancing.
These vintage ballet shoes are a perfect match.
Together they are enchanting!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Pink Pretties from the Past - Pink Saturday!

There is something enchanting about handmade pretties from the past.
The intricate handwork is truly amazing.
Each piece is a work of art.
I love the delicate materials used back then.....  satin, ribbons and lace.
So dainty and feminine.
They don't make'm like they used to!
Thought I would share a few treasures from my personal collection.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Altered Spring Journal ~ MARKETPLACE MONDAY!

BACK VIEW

ALTERED "SPRING" JOURNAL

Available in my Etsy Shop!

I love making these altered journals.
This is my latest creation.
I wanted it to be fresh and Spring-y....  with a vintage feel.
I used vintage themed papers, bits of lace, pages from an old book, an antique postcard, hand dyed cheese cloth, pearls and lots of glitter.
I made the little flowers from paper and cheese cloth.
I wanted the back to be as pretty as the front so I decorated it, too.
I added paper lace, a hand stamped poem, a little bird, and a hand punched tag (from an old postcard) to write in your name (in case of loss).
And finally.... a pretty lace tie.

Hope you like it....
as much as I do.

Enjoy!
Elizabeth

A "HANDMADE" EASTER ~ Happy Easter to all!

A "HANDMADE" EASTER

There is nothing sweeter than a handmade gift.
When I was growing up my mother (and father) always made the majority of our gifts.
From the outfits we wore to the homemade treats.
It was always such a happy time.
I carried on that tradition with my children.
When they were little I made their outfits and as many of their gifts as possible.
Now I have two little nieces that I like to fuss over.
These are some of my handmade pretties.

I bought two straw hats and two felt bags.
I added vintage lace, ribbon and hand crocheted flowers.
I filled them with color books, crayons, flash cards, and sweet treats.
I found these cute polka dot treat bags.
I loved the pastel colors.
Although pretty.....  they needed to be "dressed up".
I made hand punched paper lace bag toppers and tied them with pink and white lace ribbons.
I added Easter chick gift tags with lots of glitter.
I wanted to fill the bottoms with Easter grass..... but, I hate the "plastic" grass you buy at the store.
So....  I cut green crepe paper into 1/4" strips.  It makes great grass!
added a few colorful eggs filled with chocolate treats
and
you have a....
"handmade"
Easter.

Rejoice in the LORD.
Happy EASTER to All!
