A Bit of Romance
May I have this dance......
I just purchased this lovely 1940's tulle dress.
I love the soft blue green tulle and shabby pink silk underlay. Both faded over time.
It looks like a ballet dress so I paired it with a pair of altered art ballet slippers.
So romantic.
So romantic.
I can imagine them dancing the night away.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Elizabeth, another gorgeous find. Every time I come over and see your ballet shoes,my heart skips,as I gave away a suitcase full that were my daughters when she was growing up and doing ballet.:( I'll have to keep my eye open for more. I also thought of making a Christening dress like this ballet dress. I think it would be so pretty. xx
What beautiful vintage items! So nostalgic and romantic!

Romantic, indeed! Such a lovely vignette.. so endearing! The bit of lace and the two small bunches of vintage flowers suspended from the ballet slippers just took my breath away! Thanks for sharing!

Lovely...just lovely! Especially love the altered ballet shoes! I saved my daughter's first ballet shoes, (from age 2!) added some jewelry to them, and now we hang them as ornaments on the Christmas tree! Lovely memories. Catherine (new follower)
oooooh, how dreamy! This was a time when young girls dressed like ladies!
