Cherub Lamp Make Over
In my previous post I mentioned that I went on a day trip last week.... to my local flea market. I found lots of goodies. Some of which would have to be repaired or re-purposed.
One of my finds was this vintage cherub lamp base. It was in poor condition and the wiring was shot. I loved the cherub base and knew I could do something wonderful with it. I originally intended to restore it to a working lamp.
As with most things..... they sit around for a while before I decide what to do with them. The cherub needed to be cleaned so I sat it on the kitchen counter. In the mean time..... a dear friend of mine gave me a bag of home made rose potpouri. She makes it herself and it smells divine.
I wanted something wonderful to hold the potpouri..... and that's when I hit on the idea to turn my cherub lamp into a vase. I started by removing all the electrical parts. I used some misc lamp parts and a glass globe from an old light fixture. Screwed them all together and voila!.... trash to treasure! I added some vintage lace and an antique rhinestone fur clip.
I LOVE how it turned out.
Have a lovely week.
Elizabeth

What a great way to re-purpose that lamp. I have a pair of cherub lamps I need to bring out of hiding. xo Diana
Love all the Vintage!
What a great idea to turn the sweet cherub lamp into a vase. I have things that sit around for the longest time before inspiration strikes. Very creative!
Elizabeth, You are so creative with your repurposing...a girl after my own heart! I love the cherub vase and I couldn't help noticing your pretty lamp shade...a vintage hat veil over the shade? Love it! Hugs, Penny
What a sweet and creative transformation for your cherub lamp! I love it! I'm so happy I found your blog, it's wonderful and so full of beautiful treasures!

What a wonderful idea! It looks amazing...you know me and cherubs:) I actually have a lamp which I'm considering dismantling and just using the base, you've inspired me now!
About my sofa, yes it's Ikea and I love it! The slipcovers come off and I just toss them in the wash every once in a while...genius!
The Florentine table, yes I did paint it. I was struggling with it being gold and white, it just wasn't working for me! I will tell you though, it's not wood...had it been an actual wood Florentine table I would not have painted it! It's that heavy plastic type stuff so I thought, what the heck!
Thank you so much for stopping by Elizabeth!!! It's always so nice to hear from you:) Hugs!
It's much prettier as a potpourri, what a beautiful vignette with all of your treasures!

Your cherub is so sweet, what a lucky find! I also am in love with your gorgeous lampshade, it makes me think of a pretty vintage hat! Thank you for visiting my blog and your sweet comments on my peat pots:)
It turned out gorgeous! Love your vignette and your lovely clocks! Simply beautiful post
*hugs*deb
What a beautiful transformation you have done with this one!!! I have no doubt that in its actual version it looks more exclusive and chic than if it would have been a simple lamp again... Thanks very much for visiting my humble attic and for your kind comment, you´re always welcome!
Hugs,
K.
That lamp is so beautiful! You do great work. I love how feminine and sparkly your things are...those clocks are just lovely. Have a great day!
Using the Cherub lamp base for potpourri is very creative. Good job!

Absolutely Fabulous. Making this post my Pick of the Week for Pink Saturday.
Dear Elizabeth, as usual, I am always last to comment, but I believe I will be the first one day soon!
I love Cherub angels! Vintage and classic! I did Pin the clocks!
Hope you had so much fun at the flea market. I have not been to one in ages! When I travel back East this summer I hope to bring home a couple of treasures!
Be blessed my friend and may spring and warm weather find us all eagerly awaiting them :o)
Love, Roxy
