Feminine Treasures ~ Ruffles, Lace and Ribbonwork

  Ruffles, Lace & Ribbonwork

I've been sewing and crafting since I was a little girl.  It's second nature and a part of my being.
Over the years I have developed a passion and respect for all things "handmade".  I appreciate the time and creativity that goes into making each piece.
I love old things and I'm always thrilled when I find feminine lovelies such as these.
The two little bags (in first few photos) are Victorian era wrist bags.  Frilly little purses that held a compact, a hanky or a calling card.  They are very old.....  so delicate and fragile.  Both were handmade.  The fine stitching and handwork is amazing.
I also found this French blue hanky holder.  I loved the ribbonwork flowers.
They are not only beautiful but are little works of art.
I am honored to be the temporary keeper of such beautiful things and hope to someday pass them on to someone who will treasure them as I have.

Have a lovely week.
Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth, I just think that these items were so precious. I miss the ladylike ways of the days gone by. I think when we get to heaven we are going to have so many lovely and delicate things, made just for us!
I hope you're doing well, and looking forward to Thanksgiving!

So delicate, romantic and reminiscent of the years past. I am a collector of clutch and yes, they were all small, just large enough for snuff, or a handkie.
