Backyard Blooms ~ Cottage Garden Party

If you look close...   there is a Butterfly on the Mint bloom.
I have lots and lots of Bees and Butterflies.

Backyard Blooms

I took some of these pictures the other day and some yesterday.
It has been soooooooo hot that working in the garden has been more of a chore then relaxing.
It's been hard to keep my flowers from burning up......  even with a sprinkler system.  I don't even want to talk about the grass!
Every morning I take a stroll through the gardens.  When the dew is still on the ground.  I love the early morning blooms (before the sun has wilted them).
A few years ago my husband built me a shed / little house (it's big) in the backyard.
It's a work in progress.  I am painting and decorating the inside in my favorite shabby chic style.
It is not wired for electricity (yet) so it gets very hot out there.
When I get it all done I will share pictures.
He built the potting table off the deck.  It has a large storage area underneath where I store pots, potting soil, plant food, etc.  I painted herbs on the double doors (of which I forgot to take pic's of).
Thanks for visiting.

I enjoyed your walk in the garden this morning. Everything is so pretty. I understand how hard it is to keep everything looking good and growing. The heat has really gotten to me this year. I once could work outside from sun up to sun down but now I can only take an hour or so. It's cool early but heats up fast. Take care!

You flowers are all looking good for as hot as it's been. What is the bush with the flowers in the circle? I love the garden shed. I really want one.

Isn't early morning the best...I just love it...I try to water at that time now. I read it's better so they get less bugs etc. but it's my favorite time in the Garden. I had a wonderful time visiting your pretty Garden..thank you for sharing it with me...have a blessed evening with love Janice

Barb,
The bush you inquired about is a "Rose of Sharon" bush. It puts out the most beautiful blooms. They are huge and multi color. White, purple, light pink and darker pink..... all at the same time!
Thank you for visiting.
