The Boudoir...... a place of my own.
My spare bedroom is a place where I can decorate and display my most feminine treasures.
A place where there is never enough pink or too many roses.
It is filled with everything I love. Lots of lace, tulle, millinery flowers, vintage rhinestones and glitter.
I love vintage clothing. Everything from vintage lingerie and fluffy prom dresses to puffy tutu's and 1920's wedding dresses.
It all started with a 1950's prom dress. Mint green with layers and layers of tulle ruffles. I was smitten. I snatched it up for $50 at a local flea market. At the time.... I thought the price (orig $65) was outrageous for a dress I wasn't going to wear. It was so pretty that I hung it on the outside of the armoire door so I could see it all the time. Now I have a large collection all in minty pastels. I find them irresistible.
Lately I've been into "hangers". Vintage and antique hangers on which to display my beauties. One of my fav's is a hand painted 1920's silk hanger (photos 5, 6 & 7) with a hand painted lavender sachet attached to it. Gosh.... they don't make things like they used to.
I love old hat boxes. They are not only beautiful but are very useful. I use them for storage instead of ugly plastic containers.
I hope you enjoy the photos.
I would love for you to comment and share with me what you collect.
Have a lovely week.
Elizabeth
