Antique Cherub - Show and Tell Friday

Re-purposed Lamp Base

Was on my way to the post office and ended up at the flea market.
Hmmmmm......  funny how that happens.  LOL!
I found this beautiful old Cherub lamp base....  in poor condition and no longer suitable for it's intended purpose.
The cherub was so lovely..... I just had to buy it.
What I found most charming.....  was the old enamel paint.
I knew I could do "something" with it.
I took it apart.....  discarded the lamp parts and re-assembled it.
The top "bowl" had little holes all the way around.  I have a box of old chandelier parts I keep on hand for just such a project.  I was able to find enough crystal prisms to fill all the holes.
It now makes a lovely candle holder or vase.  Would even look wonderful filled with soaps on a vanity.
I decided to fill it with dryed roses.... for now.

Have a great weekend!
Elizabeth

Elizabeth,it is so lovely. I must look out for something similar. If I can't find a little shade for my crystal lamp, I will do the same. I bought it for only $4 and it's missing the crystal top.
Thanks for the idea.

Good morning Elizabeth,
yes, it's funny how things like that happen, but what a score. I love your little cherub and how you re-purposed her. It's perfect with the roses inside.
The crystal hanging was a great idea as well. I will have to keep my eyes open and think outside the box more.
You did good girl,
Char
