Postmarked "France" ~ Happy Pink Saturday!

  French Velvet Pillow

Several weeks ago I purchased a French Velvet & Satin pillow....  circa 1910 -1920 from an online shop.
I've been patiently awaiting it's arrival.......  all the way from France.
When the mail arrived today it was like Christmas!  I could hardly wait to open the box.
I was delighted!  It's gorgeous!........  and huge!!
I LOVE the ruching, the pleating and the contrast between the dark pink velvet and the light pink satin.  I've never seen an antique pillow quite like this one.
It's in wonderful condition for it's age.
It reminds me of a pillow pictured on a pink settee in one of Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic books.
It's a wonderful addition to my collection.  LOL! now I need a pink settee!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Vintage Ephemera ~ Paper pretties from the past

 Vintage Greeting Cards

I love it when you find something wonderful at the flea market for little money.
I hit the jack pot when I found these vintage Greeting Cards!!  Some dating back to 1907.  So many.........  and only $20!
They are just gorgeous!
I LOVE vintage graphics!  These are just perfect for my vintage inspired paper crafts!  I will scan the originals and use the copies for my work.
I also found the cutest old candy box.  It's "foiled" with a pretty satin bow and flowers.  It still has the original paper inside!  Too cute!  I used it to store the cards.
How perfect is that?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

A Romantic Vignette

A Romantic Vignette

Valentine's Day is approaching...... and Love is in the air.
The perfect time for romantic decorating.
I have a beautiful hand painted dresser in my living room that I love to decorate......  changing it often depending on the season or holiday.
Using some of my favorite things I created this romantic vignette.  A collection of vintage rose prints, cherubs, rhinestone clocks, lace, millinery flowers and...... a little gilt.

Jour de valentines heureux!

Pink Saturday ~ Feminine Pretties

Feminine Pretties

I love vintage vanity items.
They are so beautiful and very feminine.
They make a girl feel special.
I've been collecting vintage perfume bottles for years and have quite a collection.
These are a few of my "pink" favorites.
I love Victorian powder wands.  I have several and they cost me a pretty penny.
While out flea market shopping the other day.....  I found this "flower basket" powder wand!
It's just gorgeous!
The ribbon work is outstanding.  It's in mint condition and was never used.
You'll never guess how much I paid for it!  $14.50!!!  I couldn't believe it!  I could barely contain my enthusiasm!!
What a find......  what a steel!

Happy Pink Saturday!

Birthday Wishes ~ Southern Belle Pillowcases

 Southern Belle Pillowcases

My birthday was Saturday.
I was 29 (again!).
My mother gave me the most beautiful hand embroidered pillowcases.  What a wonderful surprise.  She is  so talented!!  Her hand work is amazing.  I love that they are "pink"!  And.....  the lace!  it's almost 5" wide.
Just gorgeous!!  I LOVE them!
Thank you..... Mom!

To celebrate my B-day......  my hubby and I spent the weekend "junk-in"!
Saturday we visited some historical towns along the Missouri river.  I love "river" towns!
I found lots of goodies!
My favorite item is an antique typewriter!  It still works perfectly!  I have wanted one for a while but couldn't find one that worked or that I could afford.  This one was a steel at only $25!  Antique typewriters are so beautiful!  I love the painted designs and labels.
Sunday we visited several local shops.  I have lots of wonderful treasures to share the few couple of weeks.
So.....  stay tuned.

Have a wonderful week!
