Simply Irresistible!

I love Vintage!

For a long time I resisted collecting vintage clothing and jewelry.
I was already collecting vintage furniture, china and linens.
Then.............  I found my very first 1950's tulle dress!  I was smitten.  It was the prettiest dress I'd ever seen.  It was a pale mint green with layers and layers of tulle ruffles.
I purchased it for $50 at a local flea market and remember thinking that it was a lot of money to spend on a dress I'd never wear.
Once I got it home I decided it needed some vintage rhinestone jewelry to dress it up.  And........  the rest is history.  Now I LOVE vintage clothing, jewelry, hats and handbags.  I have amassed quite a collection.  I have narrowed it down to collecting only pieces from the 30's, 40's and 50's.  Okay....  I admit.....  I do have a few Victorian - Edwardian pieces but not many.  I'm always on the look out for great pieces.
Today I am sharing some recent finds.  A lovely 1950's jacket and petticoat.  The jacket is beautiful with it's fabulous scalloped fur collar!  I just love these old fluffy petticoats!!  They are just gorgeous! and simply irresistible.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.
God Bless.

  5. Hello Elizabeth, I want to dress like that, it makes me so happy to think that women wanted to look so pretty and elegant and feminine. I have a hard time with the look of so many women anymore. Well that's a whole other issue. What an inspiring post. I am still working away at finding some treasure for my new Chick Room Pink and white and roses!! (YES)

  10. Elegant and beautiful! If I had the room, I think collecting vintage clothing would be so addicting. I don't dare start as we downsized to a sweet bungalow with rather small closets!

  15. Back in 1982-83, I was a professional dancer and broke as all get-out. My friends and I used to shop at the Salvation Army and another place called Red, White and Blue in Pittsburgh. I found THREE VINTAGE CHANEL SUITS (real!) and wore the heck out of them. Fortunately, I was a size 4 and the suits fit. (Now...yeah. No.) Your outfit is DARLING and I would wear it...but I'm an XL.
